Individuals and entire families are being destroyed by pornography. Western civilization was built upon the values and principles of Christendom.

And the brilliance of our culture in the West, the arts, the law, ethics, sense of community, it all flows from the Christian ideals of love, purity, and respect for human dignity. The spread of immorality, especially through the widespread presence of pornography, has devastated our civilization, causing the disintegration of families. Porn diminishes human dignity by turning people into objects for pure consumption. It strips away their respect, and the love they deserve is being created in god's image. The harm caused by porn extends beyond the individual to society as a whole, and it fosters a culture that increasingly views people as products rather than individuals with inherent worth.

Pornography's addictive nature makes it all the more insidious. Like any addiction, it can trap people, pulling them away from the freedom found in Christ and toward a life controlled by compulsion. The bondage of porn affects not just the individual, but also devastates marriages, families, and the spiritual vitality of entire communities. The spiritual and moral toll of pornography is immense. Watching porn numbs people to sin, making it easier to justify additional ethical and moral lapses, and that weakens the deep connection one should have with the holy spirit.

Also, research has shown that watching porn on a regular basis alters brain function, reduces sensitivity to intimacy, and distorts perceptions of relationships. These brain changes make it tough to stick to Christian virtues, like love, purity, and commitment in relationships. It's not just about your own morals. It messes with our bonds and the whole moral vibe of society. Porn's a big part of why Western civilization is slipping.

It makes objectifying and exploiting people seem normal. It leads to more abuse, trafficking, and other messed up stuff. It's tearing at the very roots of what once held us together. Porn chips away at the morals and ethics that we've always stood for in the West based on our Christian foundation. It's a very self centered view, and it's all about chasing your own thrills instead of caring about others.

Porn makes intimacy feel cheap, and it screws with the whole idea of marriage being sacred. The case for banning pornography isn't about restricting freedom. It's about protecting the moral core of our civilization, about shielding people from harm, both visible and invisible harm. In the West, we need laws, education, and support to help people break free from porn. That means helping those who struggle with addiction, not shaming them when they come forward to ask for help.

We need to bring back the Christian values that made western civilization strong. Now the fight against pornography is not just a human battle. It has a spiritual component too. We remember the words of Saint Paul to the Ephesians. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Only through prayer and fasting will our culture obtain the fortitude to pass the laws necessary to restore morality to our society. May we all dedicate ourselves to pray for this very critical battle. This is the Catholic Frequency podcast. We're on YouTube.
