Rosary Rally In Somerville, New Jersey Celebrates 3rd Anniversary
Three years ago, inspired by seeing Rosary Rallies spring up in Europe, Frank Minishak took the idea of starting one in his home state of New Jersey to his parish men's group and convinced them to start praying the Rosary in public. Each and every First Saturday, a group of more than a dozen men publicly pray the Most Holy Rosary and recently, the group, celebrated 3 years of public witness.
Notes
- First Rally was held on Sunday 11/21/21. Saturday Oct 5 marks our 36th Rally!
- The men pray the Rosary in public, rain or shine!
- The core guys are from the Shrine Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament in Raritan, NJ and Immaculate Conception in Somerville, NJ, but we’ve had representation from as many as 10 different churches.
- We took the idea from what we saw happening in Europe, especially in Ireland and Poland. A few of our regulars are from Poland.
- We use the prayer program developed by America Needs Fatima - each session takes about 45 mins and we typically go for fellowship at a local cafe afterwards.
- We made the decision in October 2023 to move from Sundays to the First Saturday of each month to be more in line with the actual First Saturday devotion and the other Men’s Rallies being held around the world
