Catholic Trivia with Nick, Susan and Christine

Welcome to Catholic Trivia Friday! After a brief break last week, Shannon returns with co-host Brian for a fun-filled evening of Catholic trivia. Tonight’s contestants include trivia veterans Susan and Christine, along with fan-favorite Saint Nicholas. With tougher questions on the docket, Shannon is ready to challenge their knowledge of the Bible, Church history, and theology. From discussing the preexistence of Jesus in the Gospel of John to delving into the virtues and heresies of the early Church, the contestants share their best guesses (some with surprising accuracy). The competition heats up, leading to a thrilling tiebreaker between Susan and Christine. Who will take home the tiara and the glory of Catholic Trivia champion?

  • On this episode we challenge our contestants with their knowledge about their knowledge of the Gospels, the cardinal virtues, the docetism heresy and the tritheism heresy.
  • What we learned: A look at who first wrote about the four cardinal virtues, with mention of classical influences on Church teachings. The origin of the term "Catholic Church" and its historical usage by Saint Ignatius of Antioch. Discussion of the tritheism heresy, which incorrectly teaches that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are distinct beings.
